Peter the Apostle

Peter the Apostle(? – 67 CE ?)

I’m a fisherman from a town called Bethsaida on the northern shore of the Sea of Galilee. Peter’s only one of my names. I’m also known as Simon. When Jesus called me to be his apostle, he added Cephas to my name.

Along with my colleagues James and John, I was chosen by Jesus to be present during certain important moments of his ministry.

Some people think I’m a little hotheaded, but I prefer to say that I’m just very enthusiastic when it comes to my teacher and master.

I’ve spent a lot of time travelling the length and breadth of David’s Land, first accompanying Jesus, and, later on, in building his church on earth. You’re bound to run into me in Galilee and in Jerusalem too.
