Tel Aviv (White City)

Tel-Aviv-The White CityTel Aviv, founded in 1909, is the world’s first “Hebrew” city. What was once a garden suburb of Jaffa that emerged from the sand dunes, has become Israel’s largest metropolis and the capital of “Mediterranean cool.” UNESCO has recognized the city as a world heritage site. They’re referring to the “White City” in Tel Aviv’s old center where you’ll find a collection of over 4,000 Bauhaus style buildings built in the 1930s by German Jewish architects who immigrated to David’s Land after the rise of the Nazis. Tel Aviv has the largest number of buildings in this style of any city in the world.
